The Betta is a small aquarium fish. It is a territorial fish and do not tolerate other betta male, so keep it alone. Betta females or other anabantidae or even other fish will be harrased. Tank mates can be tetras, danios or so. The fish is often kept in a small bowl, but a tank is more suitable. Recommended minimum size tank: 24 inches / 60 cm long side. Betta can live 2 - 5 years with the proper conditions.
